  New Dean Named for College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

  Veteran academic leader and chemist Gregory Dudley is set to lead the college, which has long produced groundbreaking, innovative discoveries, and prepared future generations of scientists. He officially assumes the role of dean on Aug. 1.

  UH Among Nation’s Top 21 for Both Research Excellence and Student Opportunity

  The University of Houston has been named one of only 21 institutions nationwide to earn both the “Very High Research Activity” (R1) and “Opportunity College & University – Higher Access, Higher Earnings” designations in the newly released 2025 Carnegie Classifications. This dual recognition places UH in a distinguished group of universities that lead the nation in advancing both research innovation and socioeconomic mobility.

  UH Biology Student Receives Two of the Nation’s Most Prestigious Academic Awards

  University of Houston biology student Cole Woody, who is breaking new ground in cancer research, has received two of the nation’s most prestigious academic awards: the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and the Phi Beta Kappa Key into Public Service.
